The Austin Social Media Breakfast series series is organized by Amie Paxton and SMB founder Bryan Person; it brings together social media experts and newbies for a morning of eating, meeting, sharing, and learning.

Marketers, PR pros, entrepreneurs, bloggers, videobloggers, podcasters, students, new-media enthusiasts, Twitterers, community managers, recruiters, and online social networkers are all welcome.

The event itself is free to attend, though attendees pay for their own food and drink (coffee, tea, breakfast tacos, pastries, etc.).

Featured discussion
Peter Kim: "Does social media marketing matter?"

As the adoption of Web 2.0 applications goes mainstream, social media clearly matters.  Or does it?

- If so, how do we get past issues like scalability?
- Do "A-listers" really care about your opinion?
- Why do so many social media marketing efforts look copy-and-pasted from Web 1.0?

Hopefully, we'll have a healthy discussion around these topics and see if we can answer the question, "Does social media matter?"
